One Saturday not long ago I was in my office and received a frantic call from a bride. She explained that we had met at a bridal show and she was in BIG TROUBLE. She explained that she was in her dress, her wedding was in 90 minutes and just got a call from the limo driver saying the limousine broke down and he was not going to make it.
I said to her “I’m confused I don’t have you scheduled today”. She explained that her groom went with another company on the internet because they were $50.00 cheaper.
I explained to her that all our wedding coaches were booked already. Now I could hear her really panic. Thinking quickly I said “ OK – here is what we are going to do, first-calm down, take a private car and sneak in to the back of the church, no one will see you. I will be at the entrance to the church with a limousine to get you to the reception by the time the ceremony is over- I PROMISE”.
With all our chauffeurs on the road I raced home to shower and get in to a Tuxedo while our reservation staff located one of our fleet just coming off duty. I had our detailer meet me and the chauffeur driving that limousine and we all prepped the car and we swapped vehicles. I raced to the church and was staged out front with the red carpet rolled out at the rear entry door standing at the ready with 5 minutes to spare before the doors opened and the rice flew. The bride and groom made their grand exit and we whisked away to the reception. While the air conditioning in all our limousines works flawlessly, it was not needed that day because things were really cold back there!
The Moral to the story for all you internet savvy Grooms out there:
